Card Games Against the Computer
Four classic table games where you sit across from computer players: hearts, a partnership trick game, cribbage and a shedding game with wild eights. Each plays out in short sets of deals, with easy, medium and hard opponents. Every card you play is recorded, so a set can be replayed and checked. Count your tricks, watch the suits, and try to read the table.

- Lantern Hearts 1994 Avoid hearts and the Queen of Spades against three computer players, or take everything and shoot the moon.
- Eightfall 1995 A three-player shedding game: match suit or rank, play Eights wild and empty your hand first.
- Peg & Count 1998 Six-card cribbage against the computer on a brass and walnut board, first to 121.
- Trump & Tide 1999 Euchre for four by harbour lamp: you and North against West and East, five cards each, and the two jacks of the trump colour rule the table. Order up the turned card or pass, name your own trump, even go alone. First side to ten points wins; the daily game is the same hands for everyone.
- Ace & Ally 2001 Partnership trick-taking with spades as trump: name your goal, then make good on it with your ally.
- Hearthside Rummy 2001 Knock rummy for two, played by lamplight. Ten cards each: draw from the stock or take the top discard, build sets and runs, and knock once your leftover cards total ten or less. Go out with nothing left over for a bonus, lay off onto a knock, and beware the undercut. A match is a few hands to 50 points against one computer player.
