Lantern Hearts
Four players, thirteen cards each, and every heart is a point against you. Pass three cards, dodge the Queen of Spades, or take all twenty-six and shoot the moon. A set is three deals against three computer players; the daily set is the same hands for everyone.

Maker’s note
Hearts shipped on every desktop of the mid-nineties and taught a generation to read a table. We dealt our own: our own card faces, a felt table under a lamp, and three computer players who count what has been played, track who has run out of a suit and fight back when someone starts shooting the moon. Daily play is medium opponents, weekly is hard, and free play lets you choose before the first card. Every card you play is written down as a move, so a clean set can be checked card by card and the lowest-scoring set of the day earns its place on the board.

Your best ten are kept in this browser with your three initials. Nothing is uploaded unless you submit a ranked hand, so clearing site data clears the list.
