Maker’s note
Cribbage is a pub game with a very old board, and the best way to learn it is against someone patient. Our computer player works out the best two cards for the crib from every starter it might meet, pegs for fifteens and pairs and avoids leaving you a five or a twenty-one, and counts every hand out loud on screen so you can see where each point came from. The board is drawn in code, lane for lane. Daily play is medium, weekly is hard. Your cards are written down as moves, so a win can be checked deal by deal; points, margin and speed decide the board.
