Tower Defense and Strategy Games
These games keep strategy light. You make a handful of decisions, press go, and watch how they play out: towers along a cable, patches on a wall, troops in three lanes, pies in five ovens. A run lasts a few minutes, and a plan made calmly usually beats quick fingers. Expect counters, budgets that never quite stretch, and the odd bad surprise.

- Core Cooldown 1982 A two-minute reactor balancing act: run hot for big output, vent to survive, and bank before meltdown.
- Packet Patrol 2000 A dial-up tower defense where every tower eats bandwidth and overbuilding slows your own fire.
- Moat Mender 2003 Patch a castle wall in five-second build phases before the siege cannons fire at its cracks.
- Tiny Borough 2003 Ten minutes, twelve by twelve acres. Zone homes, shops and works, put them on the power and water grid, plant parks, and keep the mood up while a storm, a heatwave or a festival comes through.
- Oven Overload 2008 A Friday-night pizzeria rush: build pies, bake in five ovens, pull at golden and serve the right order.
- Stickbow Siege 2008 Hold a wall against ten waves of ladder-climbing stick raiders with a sling-style bow and a changing wind.
- Lane Legions 2011 Field pikes, horses and archers in three lanes, then watch the clash. Counter-picks win.
- Auto Brigade 2019 Spend earned cogs on clockwork critters, set them on a 4x3 board, merge three alike into a stronger one, then watch them fight a ghost team on their own. Eight rounds.
