Racing Games
Ten ways to keep your foot down. Some are classic sprints where a bending road and a draining clock set the pace, others are drift, stunt or traffic-weaving runs where a clean line beats a fast one, and one is a dice race where the hand you roll decides how far Pip gallops. Runs are seeded, so a daily course is the same road for everyone.

10 racing games, oldest first
- Wire Rally 1980 Three laps of a one-screen wireframe circuit, five tracks deep, with every checkpoint buying five seconds.
- Sunset Slalom 1987 A convertible, a coast road and gates that alternate sides, each one buying seconds back from the setting sun.
- Gloaming Drift 1993 A dusk-banded canyon road where holding the drift grows a glowing ribbon that you bank for extra clock.
- Skimmer Circuit 1994 A hovercraft time trial on tidal circuits, with a boost tank that only refills over water.
- Dusk Highway 1996 A coastal pseudo-3D sprint where the boost only pays off while its needle sits in a wandering green band.
- Dirtbike Dunes 2001 A suspension dirt bike over seeded dunes: hit the kickers, level out in the air and land on your wheels.
- Pip Paddock 2006 Roll five dice, hold what you like and reroll twice. The hand you make is how far Pip gallops.
- Gravel Gala 2010 Slide a rally car around a generated gravel loop where drift angle, speed and time bank into points.
- Switchback Sprint 2014 A rally car climbs a zigzag mountain road and one tap flips its diagonal. The whole game is timing.
- Thumb Traffic 2014 Four lanes of slow trucks and one little hatchback. Weave the gaps, graze for points and never touch.
