Maker’s note
Two grids and a lot of fog. You place five ships, the Heron, Cormorant, Gannet, Plover and Wren, by tapping the water (each tap centres the ship) or by pressing Shuffle for a seeded layout. Then it is one shot each. The computer never looks at your fleet. It sees only what you can see, the shots already fired and which ships have gone down. Easy wanders and sometimes follows a hit, medium searches a checkerboard and chases a hit in straight lines, hard weighs every way the ships it has not sunk could still be lying. Ranked play is one battle, medium on the daily and hard on the weekly. Fewer shots, ships of yours left afloat and a small time bonus score points, and undo and hint cost points. The computer's fleet and its shots come from the run seed, and each run is stored as a list of moves that the server replays before it counts.
