This is not an Eracade original. It keeps its own licence, and the credit belongs to the people who made it. We adapted it to run on Eracade.

How to play

  • Type one- or two-word commands and press Enter (N, TAKE LAMP, XYZZY).
  • Esc pauses.

On touch

  • Tap the word chips to build a command, or type with the keyboard.
  • Map, Save and Restore sit at the top.

Every run starts on the title screen. Pause any time with P or the pause button; calm mode removes flashes and screen shake.

Workshop note

Will Crowther wrote this cave in 1976 and Don Woods grew it in 1977; this is their 430-point version, from Eric S. Raymond's Open Adventure, ported to JavaScript line by line and checked against its whole test suite. The text and puzzles are untouched. The dwarves and the pirate roll their dice from the run seed, so a ranked run can be replayed command by command. Ranked runs last ten minutes and score the game's own points.
